(Here we see the Odyssey in it’s natural habitat: The suburban driveway)
Okay, so see this spot here on the roof (it’s about 2’’ by 1’’)? Is that the beginning of paint failure? Will it eventually turn into a hellscape like this?
The car is a 2008, and it’s been garaged for ~5.5 years of its life. For the past 1.5 years it has been parked outside in the driveway seen above. It gets waxed twice a year, one in spring and one in fall. Would this be enough to start the process of failure? If not, what do you guys think it is?
It also appears that the headlights are starting to cloud up every so slightly. Which is unfortunate, but it will be garaged again soon so hopefully that will hinder the process.
None of this is too important as it will likely be sold off during the summer! ¯\_()_/¯

The dreaded clearcoat peeling. Our Echo’s clearcoat is peeling like it’s going out of style.

Sorry to hear that! Are there any steps that can be taken to remedy it?

My Mazda has a tiny little spot above the taillight where someone got too happy with a buffer. I just keep a shit ton of wax on it to keep it from spreading. It's worked for the past two years.

None other than paint the area.
